Melanie Weir Promoted to Magic Valley Market President at First Federal Bank

Weir to serve in newly created executive position


First Federal Bank President and CEO, Jason Meyerhoeffer, has announced the promotion of Melanie Weir to Senior Vice President and Magic Valley Market President. Weir has served as Vice President and Deposit Operations Manager since joining the Bank in 2022. In the newly created Magic Valley Market President position, Weir will oversee all efforts and teams in the areas of business banking, commercial loans, mortgage loans, personal loans, and personal banking in the Magic Valley.

“We are excited to have Melanie assume the Market President role,” said Meyerhoeffer. “With her extensive banking experience and knowledge of the market, she is well suited to lead our Magic Valley banking teams.”

Weir steps into her new capacity at First Federal with a wealth of banking and leadership experience, having started her financial career in 1991 at Key Bank in Pocatello. While at Key Bank, and later Bank of Idaho (also in Pocatello), she worked in several capacities including as a consumer loan officer and a commercial loan officer. Weir joined Ireland Bank in Pocatello in 2005 as a vice president, serving as a branch manager and loan officer. Eventually, she would become Ireland Bank’s vice president and regional manager in Twin Falls.

In addition to her financial career, Weir and her husband, Jason, are entrepreneurs, owning and operating a window blind and shutter business since 2005. She also spent a decade in the jewelry business and was recognized regionally and nationally for her work. Weir holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration, with a finance focus, from Idaho State University. The Weirs have three children – Lauren, Landon, and Nathan.
